Sometimes it's the unexpected ~
I was just wrapping up for the morning photographing Sea Smoke in Old Orchard Beach, Maine when a gentleman just walked on by and stood just staring into the Atlantic Ocean. He must have stood there for a half an hour, not minding that it was -11F degrees and a much worse wind chill. This may very well be the shot of the morning for me.

Colin Chase (Appleton Images) is a Maine based photographer who has a deep love for everything outdoors. Specializing in sports, wildlife, abstracts and landscapes, especially if it involves extreme weather. Colin with his strong admiration of nature, continually strives to capture the finest scenes possible. Colin began shooting with a Kodak 126 instamatic camera at the age of twelve. Having grown up on both sides of the United States he had the opportunity at a young age to learn photography in the Pacific Northwest.
